I’ve been thinking a lot about Christmas and its undeniable Pro-life message. Christmas is not a Christian holiday as such, anyone can celebrate it. I’m not going to get into the origins of Christmas, but yes, Christ is connected to it.
For many Christians, this season is an extraordinary reminder of the birth of our Lord and savior. Imagine if Mary disobeyed God’s plan and said no, there would be no hope for mankind, no remission for sins if the messiah did not come into the world to bear our sins on the cross, as was the Father’s plan.
The first person to recognize Jesus was a pre-born baby, look at the verse Luke 1:41
“When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.”
If you asked people what they love about Christmas, many would say spending time with loved ones, others would say receiving presents and eating delicious food. Some might say Christmas is just another day for them. If pregnancies were not allowed to continue, the people who mean so much to us, would not exist, those people wouldn’t exist to bless our lives with gifts and delicious food. And living to see just another day is a tremendous blessing in itself.
All life is sacred, we are created in God’s image and likeness, fearfully and wonderfully made, knitted together in our mother’s womb. To say that nobody is perfect is an understatement; the bible says that all have sinned, all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet we each have intrinsic value, we all matter to God. We all need Jesus as our Lord and savior. In Christ, we have our true identity, and we have true equality. The world talks a lot about equality, but it is a false notion of equality, where some lives are considered more important than others, but God says all life matters.
Dear reader, your life matters, my life matters, the lives of preborn babies matter, the lives of sick preborn babies matter. All life is so precious, and in life, there is hope. My hope is in Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I hope you know Him too. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, I want you to understand how valuable you are, and I hope you have a great 2020.
